Happy Wednesday!

Hooray today is Wednesday!  It's been a crazy week already and I'm looking forward to the downward slope to the weekend.

Here's a friendly reminder that the One Yard Wonder Idea Contest will close on Friday, March 30th, so if you haven't submitted your idea, do it today!  I'm just pulling the fat quarters together this week and I think you're gonna like them.

My dear mother, Cathie B. and I signed up for a fun block of the month at our neighborhood quilting store, Just Sew.  These are fun for us because we get to learn new piecing techniques and try new patterns.  It's also fun because it's completely solid colors.  If you see my quilts, I do love lots of pattern, pattern, pattern everywhere.  So this is a break into a whole new world!

These blocks are all from the book Sampler Quilts and Blocks by Fons and Porter.

Block #1 - Clay's Choice Page 15
 Block #2 Dutchman's Puzzle page 20
And here's a pic of the book - one I think will be well worn in the days ahead.

  1. I haven't tried all solids yet but love how your blocks look using them. I also own that book and it's my favorite. Looking forward to seeing what you create with your one yard wonder.
